Established in 2021, MedCart is an online marketplace designed to streamline the way healthcare organisations and workers locate and precure personal protective equipment (PPE).
Built on Marketplacer, the portal enables businesses and consumers find and order supplies from more than 60 different distributors and manufacturers around the world, delivered by Australian retailers.
In addition, it allows consumers to shop for everything they need in one place and for retailers to sell online without the need to invest in a website directly.
Everyone can select the products they require, make payment, and have them shipped directly from the provider. All back-end functions are undertaken by the Marketplacer platform.
Not only does MedCart simplify the selling process for retailers using the platform, but healthcare workers, teachers, government, and universities can identify suppliers that have the equipment required to ensure ongoing high-quality care can be delivered.
Since going live in June 2021, MedCart claims both customer and product numbers have already grown substantially.
After reporting the milestone of near $10 million in revenue, the team have gone from 2,000 products to over 12,000 in the last few months, also adding some of the biggest names in online retail as sellers.
MedCart’s future plans, include additional features to support a wider range and faster delivery with the goal of delivering medical and pharmacy products within an hour of ordering.
