Lasoo unveils innovative new shopping platform powered by Marketplacer

Lasoo

Sydney, 23 November, 2023 – Marketplacer, a global technology platform that enables brands, retailers, suppliers, communities and innovators to easily build and grow successful online marketplaces at scale, today announced it has been selected by Australian deal-discovery service Lasoo to power the company’s new retail marketplace.

Established in 2007, Lasoo provides a single destination through which shoppers can peruse and purchase items from more than 80 of Australia’s largest retailers including Aldi, Coles, Woolworths, Pet Stock, Chemist Warehouse, and Lincraft. Lasoo currently has more than 200,000 products available for purchase.

In 2020, Lasoo was purchased by holistic marketing company IVE Group before being re-platformed and relaunched in September of this year.

“We were very keen to create the most compelling online shopping experience possible for our growing customer base,” said Lasoo Chief Executive officer, Rob Draper. “For this reason, we chose to partner with Marketplacer which has developed a very powerful e-commerce platform.  At the same time, Marketplacer stood out from its competitors due to its ability to scale and rapidly bring new retailers on board.”

The Marketplacer’s platform’s M-Connect feature is particularly compelling for Lasoo as it provides sellers with a range of ways to load their product listings onto the Lasoo website while also synchronising with existing inventory systems.

“Being a headless platform, Marketplacer could easily be integrated with both our customised web front end and our app environment,” said Draper. “This allows us to deliver a truly seamless customer experience.”

The new Marketplacer-powered Lasoo website offers a range of compelling features including location-based searches and personalised product listings based on previous purchases. Customers can also create individualised shopping lists and register to receive alerts when particular products are on sale.

Jason Wyatt, CEO and Founder of Marketplacer  said the new Lasoo platform allows customers to complete purchases without needing to transfer to each retailer’s individual website. This streamlines the entire transaction process and makes the experience much more compelling.

“Marketplacer’s ability to tightly integrate with each retailer’s existing ecommerce infrastructure platform was critical to the success of the project,” Wyatt said. “This ensured that the new site had a full portfolio of products available from launch day.”

Marketplacer will continue to work closely with Lasoo in coming months to increase the number of retailers on the site and the range of products available for purchase.

“I am confident that, with Marketplacer, we have a valuable technology partner who can support our plans for ongoing future growth,” said Draper. “Lasoo looks forward to a strong relationship that builds long-term value both for us and our loyal customer base.”

Marketplacer’s implementation Partner, Cognizant (Contino), led Lasoo through highly collaborative, human-centred design sprints that showcased a data-driven software development approach. This enabled Lasoo to continuously co-create and embrace new digital frontiers, as was its objective. Contino extended its collaborative approach to work alongside Marketplacer to integrate and dual deliver the headless Marketplacer solution functionality into the core of the Lasoo experience. This has allowed Lasoo to provide a platform for its Suppliers and Brands to self manage products & inventory which is dynamically made available to Lasoo’s Customers for browsing and purchasing through the Lasoo front end.
