Our Story
In a world defined by technological disruption and global ecommerce trends, we help business leaders future proof their business model through the transformational power of the marketplace.
In 2007, Jason Wyatt was chartered accountant working in London and his best friend Sam Salter, a childhood mate, was selling classified ads for some of Australia’s biggest magazines.
Salter was from a cycling family, so when the two caught up in Melbourne, inevitably their conversation turned into an idea to create a marketplace for bikes, BikeExchange.
In just a few years, BikeExchange evolved into a significant international success story with millions of buyers and sellers transacting across the platform every year.
In 2013, Jason and Sam were awarded the EY Emerging Entrepreneurs Of The Year. This exposure lead them to partner with like-minded entrepreneurs to launch another seven marketplaces, expanding the platform and model beyond bikes into numerous other arenas, including services, events, and holiday bookings.
In 2016, the marketplace platform and model was released to market, positioning what is now known as Marketplacer which offers businesses a SaaS solution to create their own online marketplaces.
In 2021, Marketplacer launched into the US market, with a broader strategic focus on solidifying its role on the global stage.
